PDP Concedes Defeat, Congratulates Aregbesola

In an apparent change of mind, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his re-election in last Saturday’s Osun state governorship poll.
In the first statement issued by PDP, it did not congratulate Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the winner of last Saturday governorship election in Osun state.


But in a fresh statement, the second in the series and also an indication that PDP has conceded defeat, it congratulated Aregbesola as the winner of the governorship election.

The party also commended its candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore for his  impressive outing which confirms that PDP commands massive followership in the state.
According to a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, PDP said, “After a careful appraisal of the overall conduct of the election, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in spite of perceived anomalies, hereby accepts the results and congratulates Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his re-election
