Incredible, generous people have rallied around a 20-year-old who thought he lost everything after being kicked out of his home by his religious parents.
This week Daniel Ashley-Pierce, from Kennesaw, Georgia captured a candid video of his parents disowning him.
'Since you have chosen that path, we will not support you any longer,' his mother is heard saying.
'You will need to move out and find wherever you can to live and do you want to. I will not let people believe I condone what you do.'
With it then escalating into an argument, Ashley-Pierce can be heard being called a 'piece of shit' and 'damned queer' before he is hit several times.

Girl Stripped and Photographed By Three Students

In a disturbing incident, a girl student of the prestigious Visva-Bharti University in West Bengal's Shantiniketan has alleged ragging by her seniors.

The girl, a first year Arts student from Sikkim, has accused three students of stripping her. One of the accused is a second year student, while the other two are third year students. They also took her photographs and threatened to circulate it if the incident was disclosed, she said.

No official police complaint has yet been made.

PDP Will Win Lagos Governorship Election- Mimiko

Olusegun Mimiko, the Governor of Ondo state has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will win Lagos Gubernatorial elections in 2015. Nigerian Tribune has this story.

ONDO State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Thursday, that come 2015, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will form the next government in Lagos State, even as he said that the state would deliver the highest number of votes for President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mimiko said this at the investiture of the former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Olabode George, of the Mandela Icon Award by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), which took place at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

Boko Haram Takes Over Catholic Church in Adamawa

The Catholic church has issued an outcry that Boko Haram terrorists have taken over one of their buildings in Adamawa and other Christian houses following their attack on Madagali last week.
The church, in an electronic press statement by the Director, Catholic Social Communications in-charge of the Maiduguri Diocese, Rev. Fr. Gideon Obasogie, said though the members of the outlawed sect have not been known to draw a line of demarcation of whom to visit or not to visit with mayhem, adding that, "in recent times, it seems that Christians and Christian institutions have been at the receiving end of the attacks by the terrorists."

Kano Assembly Backs Kwankwaso For President

The Kano state house of Assembly on Thursday endorsed the state governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for presidency come 2015.

DAILY TRUST reported 34 out of the 40 members of the State House of Assembly threw their weight behind the ambition of the governor. Speaking to newsmen after the endorsement, Deputy Majority Leader, Yusuf Babangida Suleiman who spoke on behalf of the 34 said they endorsed the governor in view of the numerous challenges facing the country.

"The whole country is sinking because of poor leadership. The situation requires a capable hand like Kwankwaso. It is in view of this that we are declaring our total support for him".

Former Bayern Munich player Miroslav Klose has claimed that Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is someone very difficult to please.

Both men worked together at Bayern but it ended in the all-time World Cup leading scorer departing the Die Roten.

Klose reflecting back on some of his playing time,picked out working under Van Gaal as the most difficult.

“It was a tough time, particularly working with Van Gaal,” Klose told Germany’s Die Zeit newspaper.

major sources of funding for Boko Harm Islamist rebels - aside from raiding banks - was Nigerian politicians, reports Radio Australia.
Davis, 63, says he had survived months of extreme danger trying to rescue more than 270 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram.
When news broke in April about the Chibok girls’ kidnapping from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, Davis, who had recently moved to Perth from London, decided he could not sit on his hands.
