Immigration Needs 25,000 New Recruits - Paradang
Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (CGI), David Paradang, has said the NIS urgently needs to engage minimum of 5,000 new officers yearly for the next fives years to be able to meet manpower deficit facing the paramilitary service.
Recruitment of about 4,000 personnel into the service last April ran into major hitch, resulting in stampede and death of about 16 persons across the country.
Paradang reiterated that NIS staff strength of 22,321 was grossly inadequate to meet statutory obligation of the service, contain irregular migrants and meaningfully contribute its quota in the battle against insurgents and organized crimes across the nation’s 1,475 uncharted borders.

semi-final of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, after an
emphatic 4-1 win over New Zealad.
