Man Stabbed Wife to Death for Infecting Him With HIV

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Phillip Katongu, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death. Katongu, who hails from Wamba, Nasarawa State, was apprehended by operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos.

The police said the victim, Justina, was stabbed to death in a street at Oniru Estate, Maroko, Lagos, where she and her husband were living. Katongu, who worked as a construction worker on the Victoria Island, had a wife outside the marriage in Nasarawa State before marrying the deceased.

45-year-old Katongu, told policemen that he killed his wife because she infected him with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, among other misdeeds.

Spread Of Ebola Virus: Catholic Adopt New Method For Holy Communion

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, has asked Rev. Fathers to start a new procedure of giving the Holy Communion to check likely spread of the Ebola virus. 
The Holy Communion will now be given on the palm as against placing it on the tongue of the recipient. Many Catholic churches have already adopted the procedure, and carried it out yesterday during communion.
The stoppage of hand shake by worshippers done during consecration of the Holy Communion as sign of peace, is said to have also been banned.

PDP Concedes Defeat, Congratulates Aregbesola

In an apparent change of mind, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his re-election in last Saturday’s Osun state governorship poll.
In the first statement issued by PDP, it did not congratulate Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the winner of last Saturday governorship election in Osun state.

Nigerians Pressurize US Government to Release Ebola Experimental Drugs Used for US Doctors Down with the Virus.

Some Nigerians have asked the US government to give one of the nurses, Obi Justina Ejelonu that treated Late Liberian who died of Ebola in Lagos and her colleagues who have tested positive to Ebola the same experimental drugs they have been using for US doctors who are also down with the virus.

Unknown to Justina she went online after Mr Sawyer died and thanked God she wasn’t infected and also thanked God for the lives of her colleagues and the hospital management not knowing she has also been infected with the virus. Continue below...
