Ebola In OAU: Student tests negative

The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile Ife, Osun State, has said that the female student of the institution who was suspected to have the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and moved to Lagos State, has tested negative to the virus. 

The Public Relations Officer of the OAU, Abiodun Olanrewaju, confirmed this in a telephone interview on Thursday. 

He said: “The preliminary result of the girl is out and she tested negative. Another test will be done tomorrow (Friday).” 

“The university will issue a statement on this later today,” Olanrewaju said.

South African Living With Ebola Arrested in Lagos Airport

According to Daily Post, a South African woman infected with the Ebola virus has been caught at the Lagos international airport today, flying in from the Air Morok flight.

The woman, whose name is Folswe Elizabeth Maria was said to have landed at the Lagos airport. She was however screened and the virus detected on her. She was from Casablanca in Morocco.

She was arrested immediately and taken into quarantine.
