A helicopter bearing the markings of
Aero Contractors which mistakenly landed at Governor’s lodge of Enugu
Government House yesterday at around 10.30am has been seized. The pilot and the
crew members of the helicopter were also detained at the government lodge for
alleged security breach.
The crew members upon interrogation
said the helicopter mistook the Government House for the State House of
Assembly complex from where they were meant to convey the corpse of a deceased
member of old Anambra State House of Assembly, Sir Andrew Umeoji.
They were later handed over to the
police for further interrogation. Read the press statement by the Chief

“At about 10.30 am today (Tuesday),
a helicopter bearing the markings of Aero Contractors landed without permission
at the Governor’s lodge.
“The mission of the visitors was
unknown to the government. After preliminary inquiries, the Chief Security
Officer to the Governor, Mr. Fidelis Ogarebe, handed the three occupants of the
aircraft – two pilots and one Engineer over to the State Police Command for
further investigations”.
