Sierra Leone’s top Ebola doctor, Sheikh Umar Khan on Tuesday died from complications of the disease. His death came just days after three nurses who worked with him perished.

Khan served on the front lines of what is now considered the worst Ebola outbreak in history, with 670 dead, primarily in West Africa. He is credited with treating more than 100 victims and has previously been hailed as a national hero. Now, hundreds of condolences are pouring in on Twitter, praising his courage and altruism.

“Mikel will be a British citizen by October and that was one of the main considerations why he has opted to stay put at Chelsea at least for the time being. There are offers from clubs like Juventus, Galatasaray and Monaco, but he would rather get his passport before he considers any of them,” a close associate told africanFootball.com

Liberian Man With Ebola Virus In Lagos Dies

Mr. Patrick Sawyer, a WASH consultant at the Ministry of Finance, who had been quarantined since falling ill after arriving in the Nigerian state of Lagos for a conference last Sunday, has died, allafrica.com says.

A Liberian government official, speaking on condition of anonymity said the news of Sawyer's death was relayed to Liberia by the Nigerian embassy, early Friday morning.

Nigerian government health authorities announced Thursday that Sawyer, 40 was being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria's commercial capital, Lagos. Sawyer's death is the first recorded case of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria.

Police gave the figure yesterday to be 40, with several others injured, but fresh reports this morning says 82 people were killed in the twin bomb blast. It will also be recalled that Gen.
