What to expect from the U.S. at the 2018 World Cup

On paper, losing in extra time of the round of 16 for the second straight World Cup isn't progress for the U.S. But this team wasn't supposed to make it out of a group that included Ghana, Portugal and Germany, nor was it supposed to take Belgium to extra time and then have a chance at a late equalizer after going down 2-0. This was the first time the U.S. has reached consecutive World Cup knockout rounds.

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, yesterday in Abuja at the 2014 National Conference on ‘Voices Against Violence’, said the only solution to defeat boko haram sect in Nigeria is for those who are closer to the sect to speak the truth, saying the entire killing is driven by ideology. “If we want to end Boko Haram insurgence we as Nigerians must speak the truth. That is the major factor. Boko Haram has an ideology Muslim leaders should engage them and tell them the truth. “I am not against dialogue, but the people that must dialogue are the Muslims religious leaders, traditional leaders, Muslims political leaders. They must come together and speak the truth”, he said.

Stephen Keshi and Joseph Yobo Resign

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi and the team captain Joseph Yobo have both quit the team after failing to qualify to the quarter-final stage of the 2014 World Cup, Vanguard reports. Speaking this after the Eagles’ loss to France in the round of 16, Keshi said it was time to move on.
“I have to go back to my family, and face fresh challenges,” Keshi said.
Eagles Captain, Yobo Joseph also said he’s had enough and can go no further as national team player.  “I think I should give the younger ones the opportunity to forge ahead, focus on my family and club. I have nothing new to offer.”
