UNILAG students shut down campus in protest for hike in registration fee

There is a protest currently going on at the University of Lagos. Students are protesting UNILAG authority demanding that some students pay N20,000 for late editing or registration of Course Forms.

The students first converged at the University's Senate Building where they shouted slogans and sang protest songs, demanding that the school ends this form of exploitation today, while accusing their VC of corruption. They left the senate building and went on a rampage through all the faculties in UNILAG demanding their rights.

Explosion Rocks Gombe Governor’s Residence

The private house of the Governor of Gombe State yesterday was bombed. The house which also serves as his official residence was bombed when a police Armored Personnel Carrier stationed in front of his house was targeted.

Two soldiers were killed in the bomb blast, and six were injured.

After eight of LASU students who were involved in one of their protests on Tuesday were arraigned before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s court for alleged breach of public peace by Police, students in their hundreds yesterday around 3:00pm matched to the governor’s office and barricaded the entrance with two BRT buses and other vehicles they came with.

Photos: Cultists destroy over 20 cars in Bariga, Lagos

Some young men believed to be members of a cult group went on a rampage around Bariga area of Lagos, destroying many cars. The mayhem started from Ore-efero street and spread to other streets in Bariga. The people who live in the area say the guys started quarreling and it escalated into a full blown street war with cars parked on the road taking the biggest brunt of their anger.
