Nigeria’s new Minister of Defense Aliyu Gusau has resigned due to pressure from the leaders of the Nigerian military.
It all started yesterday when the top echelon of the Nigerian military yesterday refused to have a joint meeting with the Minister of Defense and his deputy Musikilu Obanikoro, a situation that triggered the resignation by Mr. Gusau, himself a retired army general.

Actress Toyin Aimakhu Collapses At Nollywood Football Match

Last Thursday, Actress Toyin Aimakhu collapsed during a novelty football match between the Actors Guild of Nigeria, aka Nollywood and Ghana’s Gollywood at the Kumasi Stadium in Ghana. The Actress dislocated her knee cap and collapsed during a penalty shot. She was immediately resuscitated by the medical team. The Nollywood team included comic Actors, Charles Inojie, Victor Osuagwu, Toyin Aimakhu, AGN president, Ibinabo Fibersima, Segun Arinze, Grace Amah and others. They were beaten 3-1 by the Ghanaian Actors in the fun-filled game. Ghana opened scores in the first 20 minutes of the match and scored another in the second half, while Ibinabo Fiberesima scored the only goal for the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

In what seems to be the continuance of the war of words between Ife-born politician and a former Deputy-Governor of Osun State, Otunba Iyiola Omisore and Architect Muyiwa Ige, son of the late Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, Omisore has reminded the younger Ige of the past when he once paid his school fees while he was a student in the United States of America.
Muyiwa Ige who is the present Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning in Osun State started the verbal war when he maintained that Otunba Iyiola Omisore and his cohorts had a hand in his father’s death.
Omisore who is seeking the PDP gubernatorial ticket to contest in the next election in Osun State had at different times claimed his innocence in the death of the slain Attorney-General.
The recent war between the two men was fueled by the recent allegation that the new Minister for Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan who is an associate of Otunba Omisore was appointed the Ministry to help use his position to rig the coming Governorship election in Osun State.
In a response made public by media aides of Otunba Iyiola Omisore some points were raised to contest Muyiwa’s claims.
A text message sent to Street Journal reads”
1. Muyiwa must tell the world an example of where the police and military have been used to rig elections
2. APC has the history of rigging with Ondo and Anambra experience where hundreds of Aregbesola’s supporters were arrested.
3. Why is Muyiwa being used now as govt spokesperson? Is it to use the Bola Ige angle to score cheap political points? 4. We doubt the paternity of Muyiwa because his dad stood for justice but he is a liar.
5. He should not be an ingrate to Omisore who at a point was responsible for his school fees in Boston’.
The verbal attack is a build-up to the coming Governorship election in Osun State.
Omisore who was a Senator in the State is one of the few PDP aspirants that have shown interest in snatching the control of the State from Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

An 18 year old Duke University student, Miriam Weeks, has caused nationwide outrage in the US for revealing she is paying for her $US60,000 tuition fees, about N9.6m, by acting in blue movies. Ironically, since the story emerged last week, Miriam has become the hottest name in porn.

Miriam — known as “Belle Knox” to porn fans — began her thriving porn career quietly, until she was outed by a fellow student a couple of weeks ago. A fellow Duke student, Thomas Bagley, had noticed her online, and she confided her secret in him.
However, Bagley revealed the secret that very night to a couple of fraternity brothers, and word had spread
like wild-fire. Bagley had apologized, but the damage was done. Criticism and bullying hit her from all sides, forcing Weeks to publicly come out.

When she was asked but why would you do porn?, Miriam replied:

I couldn’t afford $60,000 in tuition, my family has undergone significant financial burden, and I saw a way to graduate from my dream school free of debt, doing something I absolutely love. “Alleged Boko Haram attack on TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church is Hogwash ” – Lagos CP, Umar Manko

 The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Umar Manko has asked Nigerians to disregard the confession of alleged Boko Haram bomber, Mustapha from Adamawa State who claimed him and 4 others had been sent to bomb Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church in Lagos.
According to the commissioner, who spoke at the decoration of newly-promoted officers, TV Continental, the confession has no substance, is baseless, and that the command had no fact yet to ascertain its authenticity.

Members Desert Late Ajanaku’s Church, Family Spends Half a million Naira to Preserve Corpse

Barely six months after the demise of the controversial Gbogan, Osun born spiritualist and former spiritual father of Yoruba gospel singer, Tope Alabi, late Prophet Ajanaku, members have dumped the once buoyant ministry.
ENCOMIUM Weekly checks revealed that the ministry which recorded over 2,000 members at times during the era of the late prophet now barely records over 150. And according to sources, this is not unconnected to the fact that many miracle seekers became members due to the spiritual power of the prophet and his prophetic messages which is now conspicuously missing.
A source squealed to Encomium that he left because he was comfortable with the way and manner they
managed his death issue.
“I wasn’t too happy with the stuff going on there, especially with the way they are going about his death issue. They quarrel with people who admitted that he is dead. We are not fools and everybody knows he has been certified dead, why the confusion? Also, some of his aides have turned the administration of the ministry to politics which I’m not comfortable with.
Aside that, we learnt some left due to the many alleged controversies surrounding his death and several speculations about his involvement with occultism. They felt betrayed when the church authority didn’t have good explanation about the whole issue.Why keep everybody in the dark about such issues?

HOW MUCH THE CHURCH HAS SPENT IN PRESERVING HIS CORPSE?

ENCOMIUM Weekly authoritatively gathered that the church has spent about N500,000 preserving his corpse at the mortuary at 68 Military Hospital Road, Yaba, Lagos.
One of the mortuary’s attendants, on Friday, February 28, 2014, revealed that N1, 500 is the fee for the form and about N100,000 is for deposit of corpse, especially for VIPs. Then, preservation fee is N1,000 per day but for those who want special treatment, they pay N1, 500 daily – a category late Prophet Ajanaku falls into.
Thus, for six months the church has paid about N300,000 on preservation alone. That excludes the other expenses they paid on tips for attendants, amongst other things.
Despite the disagreement between the family members and the disciples of late Prophet Ireti Ajanaku over his burial plans and date, ENCOMIUM Weekly gathered that he would be buried at his church in Lagos.

AJANAKU’S LAST HOURS:

The whole palaver began on Sunday, August 18, 2013, when it was reported that the controversial clergy passed on, on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Gbongan, Osun state. Few hours later, it was announced that he had resurrected. ENCOMIUM Weekly later gathered that his church members brought his corpse to Lagos and started a vigil, praying for his resurrection.
However, on Thursday, August 22, 2013, he was certified dead by a team of doctors. His corpse was deposited at the Military Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, on Friday, August 25, 2013. While the family members knew their son was dead, the church members still held on to the belief that he only went on a spiritual exercise.
